not crushed, captivated, nor tamed?

Have you faced your fears, perhaps eaten fire,
in the pursuit of the life that you desire?
Ever danced atop burning hot coals,
as entwined, enmeshed, united souls?

What I’ve learned in this life, what I have tasted,
is that no time spent in joy could ever be wasted.
Savoring each moment, a love of life I exude,
and choose to live in perpetual gratitude.

Always present in the here and now,
to live intentionally is what I avow.
I am who I am, without apology,
authentic in nature, no mythology.

If I were a gardener, grow fragrant flowers I would.
But the scent of my woman is what stirs my manhood.
And just a fair warning that I’m full-fledged carnivore,
my desserts include fingers, necks, ear lobes, and more.

While friendship is nice, perhaps a partner in crime,
might it be possible to become more in time?
It would take a strong woman who’s self-assured.
If beauty radiates from within, I could be lured.

Building a conscious partnership requires mutual respect,
deliberately tending and nurturing, but never neglect.
Connection that grows, freedom to state your desires,
respecting one’s right to say no, and not end in quagmires.

With whispered truths, kindred spirits begin,
to expand each other’s joy without and within.
A relationship that grows and flourishes shall need,
shared values and interests, with kindness of deed.
